On February 15, a senior government delegation from the Republic of Togo, which included the Finance Minister Adji Otèth Ayassor, Treasury Bonds Secretary Couassi-Abou Lowgnet Afi, Treasury Repayment Secretary Aquiteme Batebewi Ninga Essohana visited CSUST and 10 Togo students currently studying in CSUST under the support of the China Road and Bridge Engineering Co., Ltd.

The reception was held in the meeting room on the fourth floor of the first administrative building at 3:00 p.m. Fu Huaxing, Deputy Director of the Hunan Provincial People's Government Foreign Affairs Office, Lu Shan, Vice Chairman and Deputy General Manager of China Road and Bridge Engineering Co., Ltd., Zhang Jianguo, Deputy Chief Economist, Zhao Lianzhi, General Manager of the Office in Togo, Zheng Jianlong, President of CSUST attended the meeting, chaired by Vice President Zhang Jianren.

Mr. Zheng Jianlong delivered the welcoming remarks on behalf of CSUST. He briefly introduced CSUST and the achievements in recent years, reviewed and summarized our experiences in CSUST-enterprise joint training programs. He assured that CSUST would adopt a more open attitude in education, and actively explore a training model for international students to improve the quality of student training. CSUST would cultivate more professional talents in infrastructure for the government of Togo and strengthen multi-cultural and educational exchanges to enhance the friendship between the two countries.

Mr. Adji Otèth Ayassor acknowledged that the Chinese and African people had shown mutual sympathy and support in the long river of friendship, and forged a profound friendship early on in the struggle for national liberation. In the recent twenty years, China and Africa had constantly explored new areas and new ways of mutually beneficial cooperation and the cooperation in economic and trade and other various fields had seen remarkable results. Finally, he expressed appreciation for the training model of international students between CSUST and China Road and Bridge Co. Ltd as well as for this cooperation and joint efforts to train professionals for the government of Togo.

After the welcome party, the Togo delegation had a talk with the 10 Togo students to learn about their living conditions and encouraged them to study hard and grow up to be a pillar of Togo and a messenger for the spread of China-Togo friendship.

After the meeting, the delegation visited the apartment for international students in Yuntang campus under the company of CSUST staff.
