On March 27th, Professor Wang Yaozhong retired as Party Secretary of CSUST and was succeeded by Professor Fu Hongyuan, Vice-president of CSUST. Meanwhile, Professor Zheng Jianlong, President of CSUST also retired from his position, and Professor Lai Mingyong, vice-president of Hunan University, deputy president of Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference of Hunan Province and head of China National Democratic Construction Association in Hunan Province, served as the new President of CSUST.
Professor Fu Hongyuan began his career in Changsha University of Transportation in 1988 and worked as director of the Students Affairs Division, assistant to President and vice president ever since then. From 2003, he has served as deputy president of Changsha University of Science and Technology; and from March, 2014, he takes the position of Party Secretary of CSUST. He earned his doctoral degree granted by Wuhan University of Science and Technology, from which he also earned a master’s degree in geotechnical engineering, and a bachelor’s degree in road and bridge in Changsha Communications University.
Professor Lai Mingyong obtained his doctoral degree from the Department of System Engineering and Mathematics in National University of Defense Technology, his master’s degree in economics in Hunan University, and from which he also earned his bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics. He has worked in Hunan University as a faculty member, deputy dean and dean. In 2008, he served as assistant to the President of Hunan University and from January, 2010, he took the position of Vice President of Hunan University. From March, 2014, he has taken the role of President of CSUST.
