On April 3rd, a delegation led by Chen Qiufa, Chairman of Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference of Hunan Province, visited CSUST and met the new leadership. The meeting was held by Lai Mingyong, President of CSUST, who expressed his warm welcome to the delegation.
Under the company of Fu Hongyuan, Party Secretary of CSUST, Lai Mingyong, President of CSUST and Hong Yuanbo, deputy Party Secretary of CSUST, the delegation went to Jinpenling campus and listened to the introduction about the “5+1+2” engineering practice mode of Chengnan College, and visited the Accounting Practice Base jointly constructed by Hunan Province and the Ministry of Education. In Yuntang campus, they visited the National Engineering Laboratory of Road Maintenance Technologies and listened to the introduction about the lab given by Professor Zheng Jianlong, who has recently retired from the position of President of CSUST.
After that, Mr. Fu Hongyuan gave a comprehensive report about the development and the achievements made in such areas as high-level faculty, talents training quality, research innovation and services, discipline construction and postgraduate education, international exchanges and cooperation, party construction and ideology education of college students as well as the problems and difficulties faced by CSUST in its further development.
Mr. Chen Qiufa fully expressed his recognition of achievements made in both teaching and research and suggested CSUST should, based on its sound foundation, keep its advantages in the discipline features, facilitate the industrialization of its research findings, and optimize the functions of the two campuses to materialize better and faster development.
