President Lai Mingyong Visits MSU

To further implement CSUST’s development strategy of education internationalization and to promote its traditional strong disciplines to the world, President Lai Mingyong, at the invitation of Missouri State University, paid a friendly visit to MSU from August 12 to 14.

The first visit by President Lai Mingyong to MSU was highly regarded by MSU and the visit was elaborately scheduled. MSU Chancellor Clifton M. Smart, who was on a business trip, came back specifically to greet and meet President Lai Mingyong. During the meeting, each introduced the development of their university history, discipline characteristics, personnel training and international exchanges, and etc., expressing their urgent desire for future cooperation. As for short and long-term exchange students, professor visits and cooperation in scientific research, both parties had a friend and candid discussion and reached a consensus.

Finally, President Lai Mingyong sent a warm return visit invitation to leaders in MSU, and the latter agreed delightedly and said MSU was looking forward to visiting Changsha University of Science and Technology and would make efforts to complete the visit and sign bilateral cooperation agreements before the end of this year.

After the talk, President Lai Mingyong, accompanied by Mr. Jim Baker, Vice-President in charge of international projects, visited the Missouri State University campus.

During the visit, President Lai Mingyong also conducted in-depth discussions about the future cooperation modes between the two sides with the international project management team led by Mr. Steve, Assistant Vice President of MSU.
