Recently, CSUST has received the letter from Hanban "Notification Letter about the Approval of the Establishment of Confucius Institute by Changsha University of Science and Technology and Montenegro University" (Hanban [2014] No. 529). CSUST has been approved to co-build a Confucius Institute with Montenegro University of the Republic of Montenegro.
CSUST has made relentless efforts for the past three years to bid for the construction of the Confucius Institute. Under the care of President Xi Jinping and President Vujanovic of the Republic of Montenegro, with the support of the Embassy of China in Montenegro, CSUST has worked closely with the University of Montenegro to jointly complete the declaration. Currently, both parties are working out the details and preparing for the ceremony.
The Confucius Institute at the University of Montenegro is a second Confucius Institute undertaken by CSUST after the one jointly built with the University of Liberia in Africa, and it is also the first Confucius Institute in Central and Eastern Europe undertaken by universities in Hunan. The approval of the Confucius Institute at the University of Montenegro highlights the international education and comprehensive strength in the spread of Chinese culture of CSUST, which is sure to play a positive role in promoting internationalization of faculty members and foreign cultural exchanges.
