On April 3rd, Mr. Frederic TOUMAZET of Université de Paris-Est Marne La Vallée visited CSUST, who was warmly welcomed in Yuntang campus by Mr. Zhang Jianren, VP of CSUST. Mr. Jiang Changbo, assistant to the President, and officers of relevant departments and schools also attended the meeting.
Mr. Zhang, on behalf of CSUST, extended his welcome, and also conveyed greetings from Mr. Lai Mingyong, President of CSUST to Mr. Frederic TOUMAZET and hoped the visit could initiate a new momentum for the exchange and cooperation between the two universities.
Both parties presented an overview of their own university, including scale of on-campus students, levels of education, faculty number, discipline structure and international exchange. Mr. TOUMAZET noted that common grounds could be found between two universities in discipline structure and talent cultivation modes, and there was huge potential for cooperation in such fields as engineering, traffic and communications, proposing that both could conduct cooperation in their strong disciplines, including exchange of faculty and students, joint research and joint education of postgraduates. The two sides discussed in detail about the joint-education of postgraduates, including language requirements, curriculum setting and tuition fees. Both agreed to sign the cooperation agreement as soon as possible.
After the meeting, the guests thanked the gift sent by Mr. Zhang on behalf of CSUST and visited the campus.
