Commencement Ceremonies Held for the Class of 2015

On the morning of June 12th, commencement ceremonies for Class 2015 were held on the playground of Jinpengling campus and in the convention hall of Yuntang campus respectively. Professor Fu Hongyuan, Party Secretary of CSUST, Professor Lai Mingyong, President of CSUST attended the commencement ceremonies, joined by staff and student representatives and 4910 graduates.

The ceremonies were officially commenced in the national anthem.

President Lai Mingyong and Vice President Zhang Jianren delivered warm and enthusiastic speeches to the graduates respectively. They conveyed their heartfelt congratulations and sincere wishes to the graduates, their appreciation and respect to the teaching staff and their gratitude to the alumni and friends from all walks of life.

President Lai Mingyong recalled the development of CSUST and the growth of the Class of 2015 in the past four years. He expressed his sincere hopes that each and every graduate would cherish their own life and their body and health and be grateful to what they had; that all graduates should cherish their academic life by living up to the expectations from their teachers, academic teams, disciplines and academic ethics; and that they should cherish the life of CSUST and add to the glory of CSUST. As a member of CSUST, President Lai Mingyong shared his understanding of CSUST’s Pave Stone Spirit with the graduates who were going to enter the society. “Down to earth” means treasuring every experience that accumulated in our life; “Dedication and enterprising” means holding fast to our ideals. He said in an earnest way that “even though we might be separated far and wide, we should never forget each other and CSUST would always be the support and back and home for you.” He sincerely hoped that all the graduates could value their life here in CSUST and encouraged the graduates of Class 2015 to dream big and shoulder the responsibility of our time and to embrace the future.

After that, representatives of the undergraduates, the teachers and graduates delivered their speeches respectively.

After the speech, the diploma-awarding ceremonies were held, joined by university leaders and professors from various schools.
