On November 13th, Professor Philip Li-Fan Liu, academician of the US Academy of Engineering and Vice President of National University of Singapore visited CSUST. CSUST President Mr. Lai Mingyong met with him and had a cordial talk. Vice President Jiang Changbo and chief staff from International Affairs Office, Department of Scientific Research, Graduate School and School of Hydraulic Engineering attended the meeting.
Mr. Lai Mingyong first extended a warm welcome to the guest. He briefed the guest on discipline setup, personnel training, scientific research and cooperation and international exchange, pointing out that CSUST boasted of strength in such fields as transportation, hydraulic engineering and materials science, and had a great demand for top-quality talents and projects. He expressed the hope that CSUST could benefit in scientific research and talent introduction through the elite platform of National University of Singapore if both universities could enhance collaboration.
Professor Liu thanked CSUST for the warm welcome and introduced the cooperation projects of National University of Singapore in China. He expressed the willingness to expand research cooperation in related complementary fields to promote common development of both sides.
Prior to the talk, Professor Liu, accompanied by CSUST Vice President Mr. Jiang Changbo, visited Practice Demonstration Center of Hydraulic Engineering, Sediment and Water Disaster Prevention Laboratory, National Engineering Laboratory for Highway Maintenance and Bridge Construction Testing Center.
