On December 9th, the second council meeting of the Confucius Institute at the University of Montenegro was convened in CSUST, respresented by Ms. Radmila Vojvodic, Rector of the University of Montegenro, Ms. Milena Dukanovic, Dean of CI from UOM, Mr. Jiang Changbo, Vice President of CSUST, Mr. Wu Dilong, Director of International Affairs Office and Mr. Deng Rong, Dean of CI from CSUST. The meeting was presided by Mr. Jiang Changbo, focusing on the issues relating to the work of CI at UOM in the year 2016. Both sides expressed their thoughts and reached multiple concensuses.
Mr. Jiang, on behalf of Mr. Lai Mingyong, President of CSUST, conveyed greetings and warm welcome to the distinguished guests and congratulated on the achievements made ever since the establishment of the Confucius Institute early this year. He acknowledged the role of the CI in the academic and cultural exchanges between the two universities and also the role in promoting local social development, hoping that both sides could strengthen cooperation in other areas and co-build a platform for friendly and mutually-beneficial cooperation through enhancing mutual understanding, taking advantage of respective strengths.
Ms. Radmila Vojvodic expressed her appreciation for the hospitality and reception, proposing that through the platform of CI, both sides could diversify cooperation, such as faculty and student exchanges, joint-education of master’s and doctoral degree candidates and scientific cooperation in civil engineering, economics, law and arts.
After that, the board council listened to the reports given by both deans on the work of CI and offered their acclaim and incisive guidance. The board council discussed about the future role and development of the CI. Both sides agreed to make full use of their own strengths and enchance communication and exchanges in scientific research and teaching to expand the scope, depth and width of their cooperation.
After the meeting, both sides signed the Implementation Agreement between UOM and CSUST. The guests, accompanied by staff from CSUST, visited the library at Yuntang campus, labs and art garllery.
