Program Introduction
The Center for Language Education and Cooperation (CLEC) of the Ministry of Education in collaboration with Changsha University of Science and Technology, jointly established the “Changsha University of Science and Technology International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship ‘Chinese +’ Undergraduate Program. Based on the existing enrollment scale, the “Chinese+ International Economics and Trade (Undergraduate)” program has been introduced.
This program aims to cultivate high-level economic and trade professionals with a solid foundation in natural sciences and humanities, strong theoretical knowledge in economics and management, proficiency in fundamental principles of international economics and trade, familiarity with the latest international trade business models and basic operational skills, and an international vision with outstanding innovation and practical abilities.
Students are required to complete the undergraduate study plan in International Economics and Trade. Upon successful completion, they will be awarded a Bachelor’s degree in Economics. The program duration is four years, and the language of instruction is Chinese.
I. Application Eligibility
1. Be a Non-Chinese citizens;
2. Be friendly to China, have no criminal record, abide by the laws and regulations of China and the rules and regulations of the Host Institution;
3. Be in good physical and mental health, be in good academic and behavioral standing;
4. Under the age of 25 years old (as of September 1, 2026). Applicants under the age of 18 must obtain prior approval from the university and provide a notarized guardian certificate.
II. Application Qualifications
The program commences in September 2026, and the scholarship is provided for a maximum of four academic years.
1. Applicants must have completed high school education (or equivalent) with excellent academic performance. Those who have not yet graduated at the time of application must provide a Pre-Graduation Certificate and must obtain their high school diploma before enrollment.
2. Chinese proficiency: Applicants shall have a minimum score of 210 on the HSK Test (Level 4). And priority will be given to applicants who pass an HSKK test score. Preference will be given to those who provide an employment agreement or relevant certification from the institution where they intend to teach after graduation.
III. Scholarship Coverage and Standard
The scholarship covers: Tuition fees, Accommodation fees, Living expenses (CNY 2,500 per month), Comprehensive medical insurance.
IV. Application Procedures
1. Applicants should log in to the International Chinese Teacher Scholarship section on the website of the Center for Language Education and Cooperation (http://www.chinese.cn): Click “I want to apply”→Complete the registration process→Select “Joint Training Program”→Fill out the “Application Form for International Chinese Language Teachers” →Select “Chinese+ Vocational and Technical Training (Undergraduate)” under “Scholarship Category”→Select “Chinese+ International Economics and Trade” under Major→Choose Changsha University of Science and Technology (Code: 10536) as the host institution→Upload required documents→Track application status via email and the system→Once approved, follow the admission procedures and arrive at the university as per instructions.
2. Applicants must also register and submit their application materials via the Changsha University of Science and Technology International Student Management Service Platform (https://csust.17gz.org/member/login.do).

4. HSK & HSKK score reports (valid for two years)
5. Non-criminal record certificate
6. Completed Foreigner Physical Examination Form (valid for six months)
7. Guardian authorization letter (for applicants under 18)
8. Other supporting documents (e.g., recommendation letters, award certificates)
Important Notes:
1. All documents must be uploaded in high-resolution image format or PDF.
2. The Foreigner Physical Examination Form and Non-Criminal Record Certificate must be uploaded along with the passport information page.
VII. Additional Notes
1. Scholarship students must participate in annual reviews as per the “International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship Annual Review Regulations.”
2. The scholarship will be canceled if the student:
Fails the medical examination upon arrival;
Withdraws from school;
Fails to register on time without permission;
Takes a leave of absence without approval.
3. Each applicant can only apply for one scholarship provided by Chinese government. Multiple applications for different scholarships will be considered invalid and such applicants will be disqualified from scholarship.
