2019年5月15日，在第七届工程机械与车辆工程新进展国际学术会议上，来自墨尔本大学的Saman K. Halgamuge教授应邀，于会场上做题为《AI for Intelligent Construction》主题报告。
Saman教授指出，AI可以用于预测和和神经网络方面，并能作出风险评估。关于神经网络，他分享了一个学生向大师学习的故事，借学生与大师的神经网络的变化对比，帮助了观众更好地理解这个词。同时，他也强调了传感器的进展和开发对AI有着举重若轻的作用。
SamanHalgamuge, Fellow of the IEEE, is a Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the School of Electrical, Mechanical and Infrastructure Engineering of University of Melbourne, an honorary Professor of Australian National University (ANU) and an honorary Member of ANU Energy Change Institute. He is an Associate Editor of BMC Bioinformatics, IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems II and Applied Mathematics (Hindawi). His research contributions are in AI and Data engineering, which includes Data Analytics based on Unsupervised and Near Unsupervised Learning and Optimization focusing on applications in Mechatronics, Energy, Biology and Medicine.
